An intimate “Studio on Stage” experience!

The Port Theatre is proud to present a new performance series- “Random Acts”. It showcases B.C. Coastal performing artists Each event starts with one art form and then switches artistic gears to a very different performer; hence the word- “random”. The ½ hour Lunchtime performances are FREE – bring your lunch! The 1 ½ hour evening performance tickets are a mere $15 making it an interesting yet very affordable night out.

“The Key of Three” project. Three groups of three artists practice in three different disciplines in order to develop three pieces that juxtapose their traditional disciplines in a new way.

"The Key of Three" Same concept, new artists but delivered to you in a handy snack sized half hour performance & talk! Bring your bag lunch and the entertainment is on us!

Next we will feature blues/slack key guitarist Lonesome Don Wilkie from the Cowichan Valley. Whether Don is playing soulful Delta Bottleneck Blues, the gentle strains of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar or playing his original tunes, he is sure to please! Opening act for Lonesome Don is Nicolle Natrass. Nicolle will be performing excerpts from her successful one woman show, Brownie Points, Boldly Going Where No Brownie Has Gone Before. Brownie Points received nominations for Outstanding Original Play and Outstanding Performance at the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards. Brownie Points contains adult content.

Nanaimo Conservatory of Music musicians- Karen Hough & Sharon Wolzien. Go on an eclectic journey from Bach to Broadway. Opening the show Sharon will perform some of her favorite piano pieces by Bach & Haydn. Karen Hough will perform selections from Leonard Bernsteins' West Side Story, including well loved pieces such as "Maria", "Tonight", "Somewhere", "Something's Coming" and "One Hand One Heart".
