Good Lovelies and Human Statues
The Port Theatre has combined these two gifted musical groups to bring you an evening of fun, charm, humour, and a pinch of sass!
Darling folk musicians and Juno award winners The Good Lovelies have been added to The Port Theatre season as they tour the US, UK, and Australia. Since joining forces in 2006, the trio has performed with CBC Artist / story teller Stuart McLean (The Vinyl Café) and appeared with Broken Social Scene, Kathleen Edwards and Jill Barber. Their constant instrument swapping and witty on-stage banter along with their light-hearted songwriting and irresistibly buoyant dispositions have enlivened Canada’s folk music landscape.
Opening for The Good Lovelies are folk/pop duo The Human Statues who are on a mission to spread “jubilation across the nation”. Originally from Vancouver Island, Zachary Stevenson and Jeff Bryant have catchy melodies and witty lyrics. They have performed at many festivals blending an energetic pop sensibility with lyrical depth and love of vocal harmony. If you saw them in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, it will be extra fun to see them in this show!
