Island Bel Canto Singers, one of Nanaimo’s best known women’s choirs, marks its  15thanniversary season with a 'Celebration of Song'. This retrospective concert will feature many of the choir’s favorite songs drawn from fifteen years of acclaimed choral performances.  

The special program showcases the choir’s great variety of repertoire, ranging from European classics through contemporary compositions by Canadian composers Leonard Cohen, Eleanor Daley and Brian Tate to international folksongs, Broadway musicals and jazz standards - all sung with the choir’s superb sense of style and verve.  

In keeping with the choir’s tradition of encouraging young musicians, the concert program will spotlight two exceptionally talented youth ensembles, the Sinclair Singers and the Patrick Courtin Jazz Trio. This is a great opportunity to hear these outstanding groups, on their own and in ensemble with the choir. In addition, alumni and former directors will join the choir on stage for a celebratory song.  Island Bel Canto Singers looks forward to celebrating this milestone with all its friends, families and faithful fans!
