Feel the Excitement * Share the Joy * Two Days of Spectacular Dancing

If you love to watch and be entertained by the finest in Ballroom Dance, this is a weekend that you don't want to miss!

Sat. & Sun. May 5th & 6th, 2012 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Island Fantasy Ball, and the Nanaimo Ballroom Dance Society invites you to join them in celebrating this event.  An event which blends competition and performance into one elegant weekend.

Competitors from Juvenile to Senior, from Newcomer to Champion will compete in all ten Ballroom dances.  As skilled athletes, they put it all on the floor:  technique, costume, drama and emotion, paired with contemporary and classic dance music.  It is all there for you to experience.

Saturday's schedule of events includes the exhilarating International Open Latin Championship.   The energy on the dance floor is felt throughout the audience and the rich Latin rhythms quicken the pulse. The evening includes a sumptuous buffet served by the Coast Bastion Inn.

Sunday is a perfect time to bring the family as we get to enjoy the Juvenile and Junior couples looking adorable and unbelievably talented for ones so young.  And we also feature the International Open Standard Championship, which means that you will enjoy the timeless and classic waltzes, quicksteps and slow foxtrots that made Fred and Ginger famous!
