Special Needs
We are equipped to deal with many of our Patrons' health and special needs. If we are able to assist you please let us know at the time you purchase your tickets. We are happy to anticipate your arrival, reserve wheelchair accessible seats on your behalf, loan you one of our two wheelchairs or offer a listening device for hearing challenges. We also offer seats without armrests in one of 36 wheelchair accessible areas if you wish to ensure your comfort

Volunteers
The Port Theatre has approximately 21 to 28 Volunteer Ushers working each event to enhance your Theatre experience. We are eager to offer you our assistance.

Concession
Our refreshment concessions are located on the lobby level and in the Harmac Pacific Room on the Balcony Level. We encourage you to visit the concession pre show and intermission. For your convenience we have included a coffee bar and ice cream bar in our lobby. We accept cash only. No food or beverage is allowed in the Theatre except bottled water.

Out of consideration for other members of the
audience and performers please observe the following:

Latecomers:	Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Management during appropriate breaks in the program.
Recordings:	The use of cameras and recording devices during a live performance is strictly prohibited.
Smoking:	Smoking is not permitted in the facility
Pagers, Cell Phones & Beepers:	Please turn off your pagers, cell phones, beepers and alarm watches before you enter the theatre. Pagers may be left at the Audience Service Counter in the lobby.
Children:	Babes in arms are not permitted in the theatre for adult performances.
Perfume:	Please remember that there are patrons seated beside you who may be sensitive to perfume, aftershave and other scents.

First Aid:	St. John Ambulance volunteer corps has a first aid attendant at the Theatre for most performances. We thank them for their service to the Nanaimo community.
Washrooms:	There is a bank of washrooms on the lobby level and 2nd floor with wheelchair access. On each of those levels one private wheelchair accessible washroom. The private washroom on lobby level has a baby change table. The Harmac Pacific Room (balcony level) has 2 unisex washrooms.
Wheelchair Accessibility:	We have 36 wheelchair accessible seats located on all three levels. There is an elevator for easy access to all upper levels. We have two wheelchairs to assist patrons to and from their vehicles and their seats.
Visually Challenged:	We can accommodate seeing-eye dogs. On all our stairs we have the universal rubberized tip which is recognizable to those needing this security feature.
Booster Seats:	We have 48 booster seats for children.
Hearing Assistance Devices:	We have two levels of hearing assistance. One is an infared ear piece unit which accommodates someone with mild to moderate hearing loss. The other is the 'loop' system that only works for those whose hearing aids have the T-switch; this will accommodate someone with a moderate to more advanced hearing loss.
Lost & Found:	All found items are tagged and recorded in our log book, located at a central location, The Audience Service Desk. For your convenience you could check at this desk or phone our administration office 754-4555 or our box office 754-8550.
Harmac Pacific Room:	The Harmac Pacific room makes a lovely venue for corporate or small business pre, intermission or post event receptions. For bookings contact our Administration Office or House Manager at 754.4555.
