Local, love-filled, laugh invoking, story infused, Lila, has its day!
This incredible interactive performance, created by Myriam Verzat with silent disco technology, was originally scheduled to be performed as a part of the InFrinGinG Dance Festival, yet unfortunately was postponed. We are excited to finally present Lila on September 15th!
Join us at Maffeo Sutton Park for a one-of-a-kind performance. If you would like to get more involved, consider joining us for the Lila residency! This residency is an opportunity to discover Myriam’s creative process of in situ dance that led to the show Lila. The residency includes a participation in the show and a ticket for a loved one, or non-performing residency participant!
To prepare for the show:
We are looking forward to diving into the Lila experience with you. Here is some important information for you –
1. This is a walking performance, it is wheelchair accessible, kid friendly and we will be moving around the park for 1.5 hours. Pack some water, even snacks if you think you will require them. Wear comfortable shoes, you might feel like dancing at some point
2. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes in advance to get your headphones and instructions for use. The show will start right on time. Parking is at Maffeo Sutton Park and we will gather to begin at Lion’s Pavilion.
3. It is a participatory show, and we would like you to be part of it! Bring a backpack with:
– an object that symbolizes your childhood for you. It can be a toy, a picture or simply an object that reminds you of your childhood. You will bring your object back home with you after the show.
– something shiny, sparkly or funky that you are invited to put on yourself or shake (a T-shirt, a scarf, a hat, a belt, a shaker, a pair of sunglasses, be creative…)
