Emerging Voices, now in its 18th year, is a series of workshops and staged readings of three new, original plays by local and regional playwrights.
Emerging Voices supports the Equity in Theatre Initiative, Playwrights Guild of Canada which promotes gender equality and diversity in theatre.
Each performance is in the the Port Theatre lobby. Entry by donation at the door.

When ex-dancer Brianna reveals to her boyfriend that she has Turner Syndrome, she is prompted to consider how her chromosomal condition has affected her life and relationship. Matters are further complicated when her friend, an upbeat performance artist named Carole, crashes on her couch.
Miles Hayes (he/him) is a writer from Nanaimo B.C. In 2019 his debut play Public Intoxication was produced by Western Edge Theatre. His writings have also appeared in Sea & Cedar and Portal Magazine, where he also served as an editor for the 2021 edition.
