Emerging Voices, now in its 18th year, is a series of workshops and staged readings of three new, original plays by local and regional playwrights.
Emerging Voices supports the Equity in Theatre Initiative, Playwrights Guild of Canada which promotes gender equality and diversity in theatre.
Each performance is in the the Port Theatre lobby. Entry by donation at the door.

A comedy about family, the one you are born into and the one you choose (or chooses you). Del, the adopted son of a family of women, decides that the only way to save his young marriage is to stage an elaborate wedding renewal ritual. When his wife is nowhere to be found, the family is forced into the wilds of British Columbia where his sisters are dragged into a labyrinthine retreat and the action teeters on the edge of farce.
Natasha is a professional director, dramaturg and emerging playwright based in Vancouver, BC. She has an MFA in Directing from University of British Columbia and a BA in Drama, Bishops’ University. While Artistic Associate at Gateway Theatre she directed both new and classical plays ( Mary’s Wedding, Burning In, The Grandkid, Brighton Beach Memoirs) and facilitated five seasons of SceneFirst: Staged readings of New Work. Recent credits include dramaturgy for 90 Days, Something In The Water and directing/ dramaturgy of View From a Window. She has worked as an acting instructor and creative facilitator throughout her career. She facilitates the Playwriting Circle for Realwheels Theatre. She is a member of the Wet Ink Collective that has been an invaluable resource for her writing. Natasha is on the board of Playwrights Theatre Centre.
