Job Posting – Accounting Clerk

The Port Theatre Society requires a permanent, full-time Accounting Clerk.  This position’s hours are during regular business hours (Monday to Friday) based upon 35 hours per week. This position requires an enthusiastic, mature, self-motivated candidate capable of working in a dynamic atmosphere with many short and long-term deadlines.  The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Finance Officer.  The Port Theatre is looking for the candidate who is a good fit with our team and has at least five years working in an office environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Finance Officer with various duties including accounts payable and receivable, government remittances and reports, event settlements, various account reconciliations, inventory control and other duties as required.  This position is an integral part of the Port Theatre team, working closely with other departments including Front of House, Production, Ticket Centre, and Marketing. The successful candidate will be a collaborator and communicator, able to clearly share information with staff and external contacts.  Maintaining confidentiality is crucial for this position.  To be successful in this position a high degree of attention to detail is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with QuickBooks
  • Superior organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer/client service skills
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • A team approach to the workplace with strong self-motivation
  • Experience with fund accounting, Square and/or Theatre Manager is considered an asset

Wage
Up to $50,000 per annum depending on experience and skills, plus with a benefits package after completion of a three-month probationary period which includes matching RRSP contributions.

Start Date
May 1, 2023, or another, mutually agreeable date.
