Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 13, 2020 (12pm)

THE PROVINCE OF BC

Effective March 12, 2020, The Provincial Health Officer issued a statement directing all events be cancelled of gatherings larger than 250 people. This threshold has been selected, as it is much easier to maintain important social distancing to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

THE CITY OF NANAIMO

The City of Nanaimo is actively monitoring and responding to the direction and recommendations being made by the Government of Canada and the BC provincial health officer. The Port Theatre is a City owned and co-managed facility.

THE PORT THEATRE SOCIETY

The health and safety of our patrons, artists, volunteers and staff is of the utmost importance. Following the directives set out by the BC provincial health officer and The City of Nanaimo, The Port Theatre will be closed for all public events until further notice. Re-evaluation will be ongoing as the situation regarding the impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve.

RESCHEDULING EVENTS

Many of the events scheduled in the upcoming weeks will be rescheduled. We hope that you will hold your ticket reservation in anticipation of a new date being announced.

REFUND POLICY

We want to assure you that refunds will be available for all cancelled events. Thank you for your patience as we handle a large volume of requests.

HEALTH & SAFETY

During the closure, we are taking the opportunity to thoroughly clean and disinfect the theatre.
