Three celebrated musicians come together for an unforgettable morning of music. The program features some of the most beloved classical and romantic chamber works, including the iconic Brahms Horn Trio and Franck’s monumental, deeply moving Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano.

CALVIN DYCK
Calvin Dyck served as Concertmaster of the Vancouver Island Symphony for 26 years and has travelled to over 15 countries to perform. He received his Doctorate in Violin Performance from USC in 1991. He enjoys teaching, conducting, adjudicating, recording and operating a Christmas tree farm. But his favourite is to perform: “I never feel more fully alive than when I’m playing for an audience”.

IAN PARKER
Magnetic, easy-going and delightfully articulate, Canadian pianist Ian Parker captivates audiences wherever he goes. Born in Vancouver to a family of pianists, Ian began his piano studies at age three with his father, Edward Parker. He holds a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. While there, he was awarded the “most talented Canadian artist”. Ian has appeared with virtually every Canadian orchestra and many other symphonies around the world.

OLIVER DE CLERCQ
Oliver de Clercq joined the VSO in 2001 as Principal Horn and has served as Associate Principal Horn since 2021. He teaches at the VSO Institute of Music and has taught at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Oliver has recorded for film, television, video games and Pop albums. He’s been a featured soloist with the VSO, the Boston Pops Orchestra, as well as several other orchestras around North America.
