Returning once again to the stage of the Port Theatre for their annual Fall concert, the members of the Nanaimo Concert Band will perform music from a variety of genres. Music has the power to express the full range of human emotions and can take the listener on a journey – whether the musical genre is classical, pop, show tunes, swing, jazz or a toe tapping march. As Poet Mary Oliver so aptly describes, “Music: what so many sentences aspire to be.”
The members of the Nanaimo concert band (50 strong) are community members from Nanaimo and the surrounding area – your friends, family, colleagues and neigbours. A group of talented and dedicated musicians with a common purpose, to bring quality concert band music to the people of Nanaimo and the surrounding communities.
