From the outside, best pals Jacob and Bex may seem like an odd pairing: Jacob is queer and comes from a wealthy family, while Bex is straight and working class – yet they’ve navigated the minefield of high school together, venting about annoying boys and being passionate advocates for LGBTQ+ causes around their school. On the first day of Grade 12, Bex shares their journey with their gender identity with Jacob – and the world. Will this change Bex and Jacob’s friendship forever? Or maybe just for now?

Combining traditional Korean dance with contemporary movement, eight virtuoso male dancers driven by the rhythmic sounds of live Ajaeng music (traditional Korean stringed instrument) display extraordinary physical prowess in a journey propelled by varying velocities. Miigis: Underwater Panther is about a monumental journey from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. Red Sky explores the catalysts for movement, water trade routes, Anishinaabe archetypes, and mystery beings on a journey from salt to fresh water. Choreographed and Directed by Sandra Laronde in collaboration with performers, the Miigis saga reveals the power of nature and Indigenous prophecy through contemporary Indigenous dance, theatrical innovation, and a fusion of athleticism, music, and film.
