FRONT LINE HEROES CONCERT

at St. Andrews United Church, 311 Fitzwilliam Street

Hawaiian Master Musician Anela Kahiamoe is back with an invitation to join him in musicwith his Band ” Men of Aloha” to honor Medical and 1st Responder Heroes to acknowledge their selfless service during the Pandemic.

Representation from Nanaimo Medical Community, Nanaimo Fire Rescue, RCMP and EMT will be in attendance. Event organizer Rob Peterson is asking all ticket buyers to bring a brief hand-written note or card to the concert as a means of expressing your appreciation. All messages delivered at the concert will be forwarded to event partner, Nanaimo Daily News for publication.

Aside from publication of notes in the Nanaimo News Bulletin, Peterson confirmed his future concept for the notes themselves is to produce a book that contains hundreds of special notes of thanks, support and appreciation. Comments Peterson ” The book will remind 1st responders and medical personnel going forward how appreciated their service to Community is.

The music concert will be include a selection of special songs and words delivered in the spirit of Aloha. Anela is a 50 year veteran of the Hawaiian music scene and of pure Hawaiian descent. Special guest musicians include Bassist Steve Wallace whose credentials include touring with Oscar Peterson, Woody Herman and many distinguished world class musicians. On Trumpet and MC duties will be Greg Bush, Professor of Jazz Studies at Vancouver Island University.

Comments Peterson …”The concert is an opportunity for Nanaimo residents to express in person, their appreciation to the Medical Community, 1st responders and deliver their own message of support and appreciation.

March 27 promises to be a very special afternoon of Music and Community. The concert is an afternoon affair in the beautiful and historic confines of St Andrews United Church
