Office Assistant – Canada Summer Jobs Program

Join our collaborative team and work in various departments at The Port Theatre Society in Nanaimo, BC. As the Office Assistant (OA), you’ll help our non-profit performing arts organization with marketing and administrative tasks.

 

Assist with marketing tasks:

  • Prepare materials for the Nanaimo Night Market
  • Promote the Port Theatre at the Nanaimo Night Market & other summer events
  • Set up and take down tables, banners, tents, etc. at events
  • Coordinate with volunteers and staff at the Nanaimo Night Market
  • Prepare materials for the 2024-2025 Spotlight season
  • Archive photos, videos & marketing materials

Assist with administrative tasks:

  • Answer phones
  • Greet clients
  • Revise documents
  • Respond to emails
  • Create templates
  • Take notes at meetings
  • General clerical work
  • Duties as assigned
  • Assist the Ticket Centre in updating the patron database (Theatre Manager)
  • Process confidential data

To apply for this job, you must:

  • Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
