Ty Koch:
Ty Koch is a 24-year-old singer from Vancouver Island, and now based in Vancouver, who performs a variety of musical genres including musical theatre favourites, Classical art song, crooner tunes, popular ballads, original songs with a blues vibe and vintage rock & roll! He began songwriting at the age 17 performing with his friends. Over the last few years, Ty has been working with several artists performing and recording at theatres, local clubs and festivals including the Nanaimo Big Band Festival and on two Rise Up Reality TV Tours which can be viewed on Roku TV.

Reawakening Hul’q’umin’um’, Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwak’wala Languages
Dr. Laura Cranmer of ‘Namgis and Haida descent, an Indian hospital and residential school survivor, wrote “Scenes from the Nanaimo Indian Hospital” based on her three-year stay at the hospital as a young child.

An original Gabriola Island theatre production, Melanie Teichroeb staged her one-woman show Shield Maiden at the off-Broadway Theatre Row complex in New York’s theatre district. The production, a medieval-style TED Talk on what it means to be a Viking warrior, is now part of The Port Theatre’s Discovery Series.

Two shows… one night! Kenton Willem is a saxophonist, pianist, flutist and composer/arranger from Nanaimo, BC. Kenton is thrilled to be presenting many of his original songs which he has written over the course of his music journey. Danielle Lebeau-Petersen brings Miles of Aisles  – A Tribute to Joni Mitchell – to the Port Theatre stage. Danielle has been crafting a tribute to Joni’s work, alongside solid cast of some of Victoria’s finest musicians to re-invoke Mitchell’s songs.
